Acts
From A Storehouse of Knowledge
The Acts of the Apostles (usually known as just 'Acts') is the fifth book of the New Testament. It describes the deeds of Jesus' disciples immediately following His ministry on Earth. These include the first Pentecost, considered to be the beginning of Christianity, and the subsequent spread of the Gospel all around the lands of the eastern Mediterranean.
Acts was written by Luke, and its beginning expressly identifies it as being written to follow on from Luke's Gospel.
Much of the Book of Acts deals with Paul, a fierce persecutor of the early Christians who converted to Christianity and became an extremely prolific evangelist. It is unique among all the books of the Bible, being a combination travelogue and history of the nascent Church.
