Michigan

Michigan is a state in the north-central United States. The capital city is Lansing, but the most populous city is Detroit. The state is divided in two by Lake Michigan, forming the Lower and Upper Peninsulas, and shares borders with four of the five Great Lakes (Michigan, Huron, Erie, and Superior). The state is bordered by Canada to the north and east, Wisconsin to the west, and Ohio and Indiana to the south. Michigan became a state in 1837.
