Ohio

Ohio is a state in the United States. Its name derives from a Native American word for large creek, and shares its name with a large river that runs along its southern border, the Ohio River. Ohio's capital city is Columbus, located in the center of the state, with other major cities including Cleveland, Cincinnati, and Toledo. Ohio is bordered by Pennsylvania to the east, West Virginia to the southeast, Kentucky to the southwest, Indiana to the west, and Michigan to the north. Ohio was admitted to the Union in 1803, the 17th such state to do so.
