Pentateuch

Etymology:
"Pentateuch" is from the Greek πεντε for "five" and τευχος for "roll".The Pentateuch, also called the Torah or the Books of Moses, is the first five books of the Old Testament. They are:
- Genesis - Recounts the creation of the universe and the beginnings of the Israelite people.
- Exodus - Tells the story of how Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, and established a covenant with God.
- Leviticus - A book of Jewish laws.
- Numbers - A census of the Israelites, and some episodes from the later stages of the Mosaic period.
- Deuteronomy - Another book of Jewish laws, and the account of the death of Moses.
