Epistle to Philemon

The Epistle to Philemon is a letter from the Apostle Paul to Philemon regarding Philemon's slave Onesimus (Greek, "Useful"), who had run away from Philemon, ended up with Paul in house-arrest in Rome, and there converted to Christianity. Because Onesimus is also mentioned in the Epistle to the Colossians, it is probable that both were sent at the same time, and Philemon lived near Colossae.

In this epistle, Paul instructs Philemon to "welcome [Onesimus] as you would welcome me... no longer as a slave, but better than a slave, as a dear brother."
