Open/close

The opening and closing dates should be years only. Exact dates can be shown in the article body.

If the line opened and/or closed in stages, list the range of years, e.g. 1930 to 1959

If the line has partly but not fully closed, use the part closed parameter instead of the closed parameter.

Co-ordinates

The optional coord parameter is designed to take a string of co-ordinates indicating the geographical co-ordinates of the railway stations along the line. The format is [latitude] [longitude]~[name]. Multiple locations need to be separated with a semi-colon. The actual co-ordinates can be in various forms, as documented here. The following is an example (from the Strzelecki railway (Victoria) page):

Tracks

This (like most parameters) is a free-form field. The value should be Single, Double, etc., or a number for more tracks, or a longer description such as Double to <station> then single.

Electrification

This should include both voltage and method, e.g. 1500V DC overhead or 600V DC third rail. For unelectrified lines, use None rather than omitting the parameter.
