Pop punk

From A Storehouse of Knowledge
Jump to: navigation, search

Pop punk is a derivative version of punk rock that generally appeals to the masses, or at least is intended to. This differentiates pop-punk from the original punk music which often prided itself on being 'uncompromising', ie repellent to the majority of normal people. It is usually less politically motivated and cleaner sounding than typical punk rock bands. Bands of this subgenre include Green Day, Blink-182, and The Offspring.
