The Bodysnatchers
Genre(s) 2 Tone, Rocksteady
Years Active 1979–1981
Origin London, England

The Bodysnatchers were an all-female 2 Tone band that was only active for 2 years between 1979 and 1981. They only released two singles throughout their career, both in 1980 and both charting in the UK charts; "Let's Do Rock Steady" / "Ruder Than You" (#22) and "Easy Life" / "Too Experienced" (#50). Unlike their contemporaries, the Bodysnatchers had a smoother sound influenced as much by rocksteady as by ska. After breaking up, some of the members went on to form The Belle Stars, while their lead singer went on to work with The Specials.
