This page lists the various "user rights" as supplied by the MediaWiki software and which categories of users have which rights.

This list does not cover what other rights and responsibilities various contributors have. For those, see Administration and Membership.

NB: These rights are still under consideration and may yet change.

Non-members

Non-members can do the following:

  • Edit unprotected pages.
  • Create new articles and templates.

Members

Members can do all that Non-members can do plus the following:

  • Block users (but must be used for blocking vandals only. See Members).
  • Upload images.
  • Move (rename) pages.

Senior Members

Senior Members can do all that Members can do plus the following:

  • Mark edits as patrolled (and their own edits are automatically marked as patrolled).
  • Delete pages with no more than two revisions (to be used on pages which qualify for {{speedy}} deletion).

Umpires

Umpires are also Senior Members. Their block rights are not limited to blocking for vandalism only. In addition, they can do the following:

  • Use the CheckUser function.

Administrators

Administrators are also Senior Members. In addition, they can do the following:

  • View deleted pages.
  • Undelete pages.
  • Protect and unprotect pages.

Membership Review Committee

Members of the Membership Review Committee are also Senior Members. They have no further rights than Senior Members.

Sanction Review Committee

Members of the Sanction Review Committee are also Senior Members. In addition, they can do the following:

  • Use the CheckUser function.
  • View deleted pages.

Policy Committee

Content Review Committee

Members of the Content Review Committee are also Senior Members. In addition, they can do the following:

  • View deleted pages.

Bureaucrat

In addition to all the other rights listed above, Bureaucrats can:

  • Change user rights.
  • Delete and undelete revisions, edit comments, and usernames of revisions.
  • Lock and unlock the database.
